About Anthea Lewis

Anthea has been in the creative sector for over 20 years, covering various roles and continuing to build her resources to expand her palette. Having started as a performer working in contemporary dance and physical theatre, she simultaneously began building her skillset in arts management and producing. More specifically, she is interested in artistic growth and developing an understanding of the business aspects of the arts. As a result, this allows her to integrate a range of experiences and offer a unique vantage point in the creative field.

At an early age, Anthea became fascinated with stories, the people they belong to and how they unfold. She wanted to be a part of sharing these narratives and finding a way to explore herself through discovering these alternate perspectives.

Whether working with the body and movement, producing, programming or curating, Anthea looks for connection points to reach people from different angles. The fun is in the sprout of an idea blossoming into its fullest potential and being a part of allowing the process to happen.

“My work has to speak to me in some way and stimulate the curiosity to ask questions and begin to investigate. I may use different tools to share an idea or delve in, but it all comes from the same place of inquiry and a desire to excavate the human condition.”
